Catholic Life
At St. Bernadette's, our vision statement forms the absolute heart beat of our school. It inspires our whole curriculum design, is the basis for policy making and underpins our whole school culture and ethos; something which we are extremely proud of. We provide many opportunities to enhance and develop the Catholic Life of the school including:
Advent projects - St. Bernadette's Advent Projects have had phenomenal success over recent years. Our children have been tasked with spreading JOY via our Joy advent calendar, HOPE via our Hope bracelets and PRAYER via our prayer pods.
HCPT Lourdes - each Monday we sell 'Holy Toast' and all monies raised throughout the year goes to funding a child from our school to go on an Easter pilgrimage to Lourdes with HCPT.
Supporting charities - we are actively involved in supporting a range of charities including: Cafod's 'Big Lent Walk, Operation Christmas Child, MacMillan, Marie Curie, we provide Harvest bags for our local community and work closely with a local Wallsend charity 'Walking With' and Daft as a Brush.
First Holy Communion- We work in partnership with Fr David, our parish priest, and a team of dedicated catechists to prepare our Year 4 pupils to celebrate and receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.
Please see a sample of all stakeholders' opinions on the Catholic Life of St. Bernadette's. It would be impossible to share all comments but we have included some of our favourites. Enjoy!
